The Travel Guide

There are several ways to get to the venue. Here are some options depending on where you are travelling from, and the type of transportation used.

Flying In

For the smoothest journey to our wedding, we highly recommend flying into Bologna Guglielmo Marconi Airport (BLQ).

  • Bologna (BLQ): This is the closest and most convenient airport. From here, you are only about 1 hour and 15 minutes away by car, and you have the best train connections via Bologna Centrale.

  • Florence (FLR): The secondary option, with a similar drive: about 1 hour and 30 minutes. But a bit trickier train connection.

  • Pisa (PSA): Often has great international connections (especially with budget airlines). The drive to the venue takes roughly 2 hours.

By Car

If you prefer the flexibility of driving, the venue is accessible from several major airports. We recommend using a GPS, but here is the general direction:

  • From Bologna Airport (BLQ): The drive takes approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. It's the most straightforward route, heading south into the heart of the mountains.

  • From Florence Airport (FLR): A scenic drive of about 1 hour and 30 minutes. You'll head north, crossing the beautiful border between Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna.

  • From Pisa Airport (PSA): Expect a journey of roughly 2 hours. This is a great route if you're planning to see more of the Tuscan countryside on your way to the celebration.

By Train via Bologna

If you are traveling by rail, the best way to reach the venue is via Bologna.

  • From Bologna Centrale, take the regional train towards Porretta Terme. The journey offers beautiful views of the Apennines and takes about 1 hour and 10 minutes. Train tickets can be purchased on Trenitalias homepage.

  • From Bologna Airport, take the bus to Borgo Panigale Stazione and change to the train towards Porretta Terme. Train tickets can be purchased on Trenitalias homepage.

  • The Final Leg: Please note that the venue is a 30-minute drive from Porretta Terme station. We recommend pre-booking a taxi or reaching out to us in advance to coordinate a pickup.

By Train via Florence

  • From Florence (Santa Maria Novella): Take the regional train towards Pistoia. Once there, change to the mountain line heading to Porretta Terme. The total travel time is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.
  • The Final Leg: Please note that the venue is a 30-minute drive from Porretta Terme station. We recommend pre-booking a taxi or reaching out to us in advance to coordinate a pickup.
